The Thrifted Fashion Bag is designed by Amy Barickman and offered by Indygo Junction.  This sewing bag pattern is constructed with a center panel that highlights the coordinating fabrics.  This pattern also has instructions to make the bag using men's recycled slacks and ties.  Finished size is 19"W at the lower edge and 11" high.

Materials Needed:
  • VIEW A:  Recycled Tie Bag:
  • 8 to 10 coordinating ties for the front and back
  • 1 to 2 coordinating ties for the handles
  • 1 coordinating tie for the band top
  • 1/2 yard fabric for the lining
  • Optional:  2 pieces coordinating fabric 7 1/4" x 8" for interior pocket
  • 1/2 yard batting such as Bosal Sew In Batting
  • 2" x 24" heavy weight interfacing such as Timtex for top band
  • 1 magnetic snap closure
  • VIEW B - MensWear Bag:
  • 2 pairs of men's dress slacks
  • 1/2 yard fabric for lining
  • Optional:  2 pieces coordinating fabric 7 1/4" x 8" for interior pocket
  • 1/2 yard batting such as Bosal Sew In Batting
  • 1 magnetic snap
  • VIEW C - Fabric Bag:
  • 1/2 yard main fabric for purse front/back, handles and band
  • 1/3 yard contrasting fabric for center panel and interior pockets
  • 1/2 yard lining fabric
  • 1/2 yard batting such as Bosal Sew In Batting
  • 2" x 24" heavy weight interfacing such as Timtex for top band
  • 1 magnetic snap closure
