That 70's Tote Pattern by Whistlepig Creek Productions has a retro 70's look with instructions for a flower design, paisley, or a peace symbol.  There are comfortable double handles and the finished size is 12" W x 12" H x 8" D - just the right size to carry everyday!  Patterns are provided for the paisley, flower, peace sign, and tote bottom.

Materials Needed:

  • ALL TOTES: 5/8 yd fabric for bag body
  • 1/8 yd accent strip
  • 1/3 yd for handles
  • 1 yd for lining and inside pockets
  • 1 1/3 yd Fusible Fleece (Pellon 987F)
  • Magnetic Snap or Velcro
  • FLOWER TOTE: 1/4 yd flower fabric
  • 1/8 yd or scrap for flower center
  • 1/2 yd Woven Fusible Interfacing such as Pelon Shape Flex or an additional 1/4 yd flower fabric
  • PEACE SYMBOL TOTE: Fat Quarter or 12" x 12" scrap for peace sign
  • 1/3 yd fusible webbing or freezer paper depending if your fabric will ravel
  • PAISLEY TOTE:  Fat Quarter or 12" x 12" scrap fabric for Layer 1 (black outside curvy piece)
  • Fat Quarter or 12" x 12" scrap fabric, Layer 2 (pink middle piece)
  • Fat Quarter or 10" x 10" scrap fabric, Layer 3 (black center piece)
  • 1/3 yd fusible webbing or freezer paper depending if your fabric will ravel
  • 3 large buttons
