Vintage Beach Tote Pattern

The Vintage Beach Tote Pattern is an easy to make tote pattern which includes the letter templates and can be made as a denim bag or a cotton bag.  Finished size is 15 1/2" H x 20" W x 6" D with a 12" handle drop.

Materials Needed: (Fabric based on 44" wide fabric for the cotton tote and 54" wide for the denim tote)

• Taupe tonal print fabric - 1 1/8 yards (tote front, back, bottom, and handles)
• 1 Fat Quarter (Letters, buttoms, beach ball sections)
• Faded Blue Prints:  Fabric Scraps Medley
• One 7" x 7" square (Large beach ball)
• One 6" x 6" square (Medium beach ball)
• One 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" square (Small beach ball)
• Cotton Ticking:  1 1/4 yards (lining, 2 self-lined interior pockets)
• Cotton Batting (45" wide): 1 yard (Tote front, back, bottom, handles and 3 beach balls)
• Fusible Web (16" wide Lite Steam-A-Seam or 20" wide Misty Fuse): 7/8 yard OR purchase packages
• One package of Dritz 3-half ball cover buttons (no tools required)
• ALSO NEEDED:
• Sulky Totally Stable (pattern making)
• Sulky KK2000 (Tem. spray baste)
• Sulky 12 st. cotton thread (quilting)
• DENIM BEACH TOTE:  (54" wide yardage)
• 1 yard heavy cotton denim (Tote front, back, bottom, handles)
• Dark Gray Heavy Cotton Denim - 1 Fat Quarter (Letters, buttons, beach ball sections)
• Light Gray Medium-Weight Cotton: 1 1/4 yard (Small, Medium, and large beach balls, tote lining, 2 self-lined interior pockets)
• 45" wide Cotton Batting - 3/4 yard (Tote front, back, and bottom)
• Fusible web - 7/8 yard OR purchase packages (Beach ball and letters for machine applique)
• 1 package or Dritz 3-half ball cover buttons (No tools required)
