The Frenchy Handbag pattern by Amy Butler includes instructions, pattern pieces, and measurements to make your own vintage style bag. This pattern makes a handbag and a shoulder bag. Finished size for the handbag is 11 1/4"W x 11 1/4"H (14 1/2"H including handles) and the shoulder bag is 14 3/4"W x 16 1/2"H (25 1/4"H including strap).
Materials List:  (If you are using heavy weight Home Decor fabric, you will not need interfacing)
  • HANDBAG: (44" wide light to mid-weight fabric) 
  •   1/4 yard of the 1st Exterior fabric for the Top Panels
  •   3/8 yard of a coordinating Exterior fabric for the Main Panels and Handles
  •   3/4 yard for the Lining and Pockets
  •   1 yard of 22 in. wide heavyweight sew-in interfacing (such as Pellon 40)

OR
For 54 in. wide heavier Home Dec fabric

  •   1/8 yard of the 1st Exterior fabric for the Top Panels
  •   3/8 yard of a coordinating Exterior fabric for the Main Panels and Handles
  •   1/2 yard for the Lining and Pockets

PLUS

  •   1 - 3/4 in. magnetic snap from Dritz (found in most craft and sewing stores)
  •   1 spool of coordinating all-purpose thread (We use Coats Dual Duty Plus)


FOR THE SHOULDER BAG
For 44 in. wide light to mid-weight fabric

  •   3/8 yard of the 1st Exterior fabric for the Top Panels
  •   5/8 yard of a coordinating Exterior fabric for the Main Panels and Straps
  •   1 yard for the Lining and Pockets
  •   2 yards of 22 in. wide heavyweight sew-in interfacing (such as Pellon 40)
