Day Tripper Bag Pattern *

The Day Tripper Bag pattern by Monica Poole is just the right size to hold your purse, a book, water, and a sweater for your day out!  There are lots of pockets, including an inner zippered pocket for small items and this bag can be a backpack or shoulder bag with or without grommets.  Finished size is 33cm width x 38cm height (13" x 15").

Materials Needed:

• Main fabric (top and bottom bands, base and pocket) - 55cm (2/3 yd)
• Contrast (midsection of bag) - 30cm (1/3 yd)
• Strap (can be made from the main or contrast fabric) - 20cm (1/4 yd)
• OR
• cord for the backpack only - 2m (2 1/4 yards)
• Lining - 1m (1 yard)
• Bag batting - 85cm (1 yard)
• Template plastic for the base or large oval bag base
• Grommets for the shoulder bag (medium size) - 4
• Optional grommets for the backpack (medium size) - 8
• 2 x small to medium shank buttons for the 8 grommet backpack
• 3 x small to medium shank buttons for the shoulder bag and the backpack without grommets
• 20cm zipper
