The Waverley Bag Pattern

The Waverley Bag pattern by Leanne Beasley is a quilted bag with embroidery stitches such as a backstitch, French Knot, Satin Stitch, and Running Stitch.  Finished size is approximately 18" x 18" plus handles.

Materials Needed:

• Rotary cutter, ruler and mat
• Basic sewing kit including embroidery hoop (4" works well) and embroidery needle
• Scraps of fabric for bag front and applique (7" strips or squares work well)
• Fabric pen for transferring designs to fabric
• Optional: 4 x 4 1/2" squares of Weaveline (woven iron-on interfacing)
• D.M.C. threads to match your fabric
• Small amount of templastic for applique templates
• 55cm (22") of fabric for bag back and handles
• 55cm of fabric for bag lining
• 2 - 18 1/2" squares of cotton wadding for bag support
• 2 - 19" x 3" pieces of cotton wadding for handle support
