Side Pocket Purse Pattern *

The Side Pocket Purse Pattern has lots of compartments and the straps are long enough for you to carry this bag on your shoulder.  You can use fat quarters or even restyled denim with patchwork side pockets for extra style!  There is an elastic top and a magnetic tab closure.  Finished size is 11 1/2" long x 6 1/2" wide x 9" high.

Materials Needed:

• RED VERSION: Six fat quarters -
•  for front and back
•  for front and back lining and magnetic tab closure
•  for side pockets and side pocket linings
• for sides and side linings
• for exterior bottom and handles
• for bottom lining and interior pockets
• 1 yd of 44" wide fusible fleece fof interfacing
• 1 yd of 1/4" wide elastic
• 6" x 11" piece of plastic mesh or similar sturdy product to add stability to bottom of purse
• Magnetic snap
• BLUE VERSION:  1 yd of 4" wide main fabric or one men's large chambray shirt
• 1 yd of 44" wide lining fabric
• Two pieced quilt blocks at least 9" square for exterior side pockets
• 1 yd of 44" wide fusible fleece for interfacing
• 1 yd of 1/4" wide elastic
• 6" x 11" piece of plastic mesh or similar sturdy product to add stability to bottom of purse
• One sew-in magnetic snap
