Brooklyn Bag Pattern

The Brooklyn Bag Pattern by Amy Barickman of Indygo Junction is from the recycle Crossroad selection.  This is a tote pattern with lots of room with a gathered bottom and 2 pockets inside.  There are large outside pockets and included is a chevron quilted method.  Padded handles and piping details are featured and this bag can be made in denim.  Finished size is 19"W at top (10" at the bottom) x 14"H x 6"D (excluding handles).

Materials Needed:

• 1 yard 45" or 54" wide main fabric for purse body
• 1/2 yard contrasting fabric for pockets
• 3/4 yard lining of 45" wide fabric
• 3/4 yard of light weight batting such as Warn 'N Natural or Bosal fleece
• 39" of 12/32" (9mm) cording
• Two 12" x 9" pieces of single-sided fusible extra firm stiffener for purse bottom such as Floriani's Stitch N Shape
• Optional for chevron pocket quilting: 1/3 yard of 1" grid interfacing (fusible or non-fusible) such as Bosal's 1" Fusible Quilt & Craft Grid
• Optional for top of outer pockets:  3/4 yard of 1" twill tape OR 3/4 yard 1/2" bias tape
