Laurel Canyon Purse Pattern

The Laurel Canyon Purse Pattern by Indygo Junction is in the Crossroads series of bag patterns and is just the right size to carry every day. This pattern can be made from your choice of fabric or it can be made of recycled jeans. There is a gusset (pattern included) and a fold over flap which is perfect for embroidery. A template is included for the front flap medallion embroidery design and the finished size is 10"W x 6"H x 1 1/4"D.

Materials Needed:

• FOR FABRIC VERSION:
• 1 yard of 45" wide fabric for outside purse and strap
• 5/8 yard of 45" wide fabric for lining
• 5/8 yard of either foam stabilizer or medioum weight single sided fusible interfacing
• 1/8 yard of 44" wide fabric for contrasting strap middle
• Four 2 and 1/4" rectangle rings
• 1" square of Velcro or sew in magnetic snap
• FOR RECYCLED VERSION:
• One pair of wide legged large jeans with at least a 29" seam
• 5/8 yard of 45" wide fabric for lining
• 1/8 yard of 44" wide for contrasting strap middle fabric
• 5/8 yard of either foam stabilizer or medium weight single sided fusible interfacing
• Four 2 and 1/4" rectangle rings
• 1" square of Velcro or sew in magnetic snap
• FOR FLAP EMBELLISHMENT - Both Versions:
• Wax free tracing paper
• Wash out fabric marking pen
• 5" diameter embroidery hoop
• Embroidery floss
