Side Note Satchel Pattern *

The Side Note Satchel Pattern, a Mary Ann Donze Design by Indygo Junction, includes detailed sewing instructions and pattern templates for creating a soft or structured hobo-inspired satchel. Two large interior pockets and a cellphone sized outer pocket cradle your essentials. Instructions provided for deconstructing denim jeans and men's shirts to make the upcycled version. Finished size: 14 3/4" W x 11 1/8" H x 5 1/8" D.

There are two strap options: crossbody or shoulder length. Thre are three closure options:

1. A triangular flap pasing through a fabric band and secured with a magentic snap
2. A long straight flap anchored with a large metal ring
3. A pieced triangular flap with loop

Option Closure 1:

• 3/8 yd Fabric 1 (front, back, flap band)
• 5/8 yd Fabric 2 (sides, flap, straps, outer pocket)
• 7/8 yd Fabric 3 (front/back/sides lining, interior pockets)
• 18" x 58" byAnnie's Soft & Stable
• 1/2 yd fusible batting (Thermolam)
• 1 1/3 yds fusible interfacing
• One 1 1/8" sew-on magnetic snap

Option Closure 2:

• 3/8 yd Fabric 1 (front, back)
• 3/4 yd Fabric 2 (sides, flap, straps, outer pocket (unlined))
• 7/8 yd Fabric 3 (front/back/sides lining, interior pockets (unlined))
• 1 1/8 yds fusible batting (Thermolam)
• 1 1/3 yds fusible interfacing
• One 2 1/2" sturdy metal ring

Option Clusure 3:

• 2 to 3 pairs of denim jeans and/or denim remnants
• Two men's cotton shirts
• 1 1/8 yds fusible batting (Thermolam)
• 1 1/3 yds fusible interfacing
• One 2 1/2" sturdy metal ring
• Denim needle for sewing machine
