Bali Squared Bag Pattern

The Bali Squared Bag pattern consist of fabric covered clothesline that is sewn together to make a handbag!  This bag pattern is a squared tote with double handles and a decorative button on the front and finished size is 12"H x 12"W x 6"D.  Bali Pops can be used to make a unique purse from individual batik strips.

Materials Needed:  Fabric used is cotton and is cut into 2 1/2" strips by the width of the fabric (42" - 44")

• Squared BAG - 3 1/2 yards (or one Bali Pop and 1 yard)
• Body of bag - (36) 2 1/2" x 42" strips of fabric
• Binding and handles - (7) 2 1/2" x 42" fabric strips
• Interior pockets - (2) 12" x 16" rectangles (Also for interior pockets you will need 2 pieces of fusible fleece 12" x 8")
• Clothesline - 150 feet (Clothesline should be in a diameter of 6 32" to 7/32" and can be synthetic but not polyester)
• Thread - 50 weight 2-ply for the bag and a 40 weight 3-ply for hand sewing the sides
• 1/2" cotton upholstery piping - 2 yards (Cut two pieces the desired length of the handles (25" to 27")
• You will also need a sewing machine with a free arm and a good zipzag stitch.
