Happy Handles Pattern

The Happy Handles pattern has instructions for creating your own handbag handles made with heavy interfacing and plastic tubing.  Directions are given for 19" or 25" handles with adjustment instructions for other lengths.

Materials Needed:

• 1/4 yd fabric 42/44" wide
• Cut 2 strips 4" wide (Fat Quarters are not wide enough for this project)
• Stiff interfacing - Craf-Tex by Bosal
• For 19" handles - two strips 1 3/4" x 24"
• For 25" handles - two strips 1 3/4" x 30"
• Plastic tubing - 1/4" Polyethylene .170 tubing (5 feet will do 2 handles up to 30" long)  This tubing is available by the foot or a 25 foot spool in the plumbing department or your hardware store.
• Optional: Buttons and beads for decorations
