Island Beach Bum Bags Pattern

The Island Beach Bum Bags is by Bella Nona and is an island inspired bag using batiks and crochet.  There are instructions for a unique knotted handle and jute webbing is used in this pattern.  Finished size is 22"W x 13"H (not including the 4" top band).

Materials Needed:

• N or 15 crochet hook
• 7 to 8 yards of assorted batik fabric (based on 42" wide)
• Bright Colored Bag - 50" jute webbing 4" wide (from the drapery department)
• 4" x 50" piece of Steam-A-Seam
• 4 1/2" x 50" piece of batik for top band backing
• 4 grommets 1" diameter
• 2 1/2 yards of cotton or hemp rope 3/4" or 1"  in diameter for handles
• Jute colored nylon thread and large needle
• Earth-Tone Bag
• Two strips mudcloth measuring approximately 5" x 68" each
