A-Door-Ables Pattern

The A-Door-Ables Pattern by Lazy Girl Designs includes sewing instructions for creating a gorgeous hanging pocket suitable for decorating a doorknob or drawer pull. Fill it with anything that fits your fancy. Chocolates and other candies fit quite well. Fill with potpourri and sew the top closed for a decorative sachet.

Add your own finishing touches and dress it up to fit any mood or style. Add tassels, beads, buttons or bells. Store your glasses, keys, pens and pencils. Put one on the door and your keys are always waiting for you on your way out. Add a pocket to the nightstand next to your bed and keep your glasses or remote control handy. Tack it to the wall using thumbtacks and fill with dried flowers. The possibilities are just beginning.

This quick and easy pattern is a ‘Fat Quarter Cutie’. This means it can be made from a fat quarter cut of fabric.

Fabric Tip: While one fat quarter is plenty to make one A-Door-Ables, use two or more fat quarters to coordinate and accent as shown on the cover photo and make two A-Door-Ables. Make sure you have enough batting and embellishments for two as well.

Finished size: 3 1/2" x 6" or 5" x 8".

Materials needed:

• 2 Fat Quarters or (2) 1/4 yds of fabric
• 10" Square of thing quilt batting, quilter's fleece or poly fleece
• Button for decoration, 3/4" or 1"
• Optional embellishments: tassel, beads, charms, bells, or ribbons.
