Joy Bag Pattern *

The Joy Bag pattern by Melissa Stramel of Lilac Lane includes sewing instructions for creating an advanced beginner bag pattern in 2 sizes (8" x 12" and 14" x 16") and is a great way to learn pleating!  This bag pattern has instructions for a shoulder strap and includes a bonus pattern for a flower pin for your bag.

Materials Needed:

• VIEW A (8" x 12")
• 5/8 yard fabric or 2 fat quarters
• 5/8 yard lining fabric
• 1 yard extra firm sew-in stabilizer
• 1 fat quarter for contrast
• 1 magnetic snap
• One 7 inch zipper for pocket
• VIEW B (14" x 16")
• 1 yard fabric
• 1 yard lining fabric
• 1 1/2 yards stabilizer as above
• 1/8 yard for contrast
• 1 magnetic snap
• One 7 inch zipper for pocket
