Carole Ann's Tote Pattern

Carole Ann's Tote Pattern by Penny Sturges is a pretty and practical tote pattern that has instructions for two versions - a pieced bag made with 2 1/2" squares or a single outside fabric!  There are comfortable double handles and the finished size is 17"W x 11"H x 4"D.

Materials Needed:

• PIECED VERSION:
• Outer bag - 126 2 1/2" squares of coordinating fabrics, or 5-6 fat quarters, depending on your color variety
• Lining, handles, handle tabs, inner pocket  trim - 1 yard
• Inner pockets, bottom cover - 3/4 yard
• Bosal 326LF/426LF Light Fusible Batting - 1 1/4 yard
• Bosal Craf-Tex 337 for bottom of bag - approximately 6" x 34" piece
• 4 Dritz 1" rectangular rings
• ONE OUTER FABRIC VERSION:
• Outer bag, handles, handle tabs, inner pockets - 1 1/2 yards
• Lining, bottom cover, inner pocket trim - 3/4 yard
• Bosal 326LF/426LF Light fusible Batting - 1 1/4 yard
• Bosal Craf-Tex Plus 337 (fusible on both sides) for bottom of bag - approximately 6" x 34" piece
• 4 Dritz 1" rectangular rings
• OPTIONAL PIECED FLAP ON ONE FABRIC BAG:
• 1/8 yard, plus scraps, one 2" D-ring, and a large button to close.
