Summer Surprise Tote Bag Pattern

The Summer Surprise Tote pattern by Natalie Ross has unique braided handles and a tie fastener on the top, along with a circular applique on the front.  Finished size is 16" x 19" (40cm x 47.5cm) excluding handles.  Pattern template included for center applique and circle applique.

Materials Needed:  Based on 44" (112cm) width fabric

• One fat eighth of yellow micro check print fabric for center panel
• One fat quarter each of white, blue, and hot pink floral print fabric for front and back strip piecing
• One fat eighth of white homespun for stitchery
• One fat eighth of raspberry pink micro check print fabric for scallop center background piece
• 9" (22.5cm) of blue with milti colored polkadot print fabric (this includes the fabric ties)
• 15cm (6") of white with multi colored polkadot print fabric
• 15cm (6") of red with multi colored polkadot print fabric for handles
• 50cm (20") of fabric for bag lining
• 50cm (20") of iron-on Pellon
• 60cm (24") of white jumbo Ric Rac braid
• Fusible webbing
• 1 sheet of thick cardboard for bag base
