Blooming Bags Pattern *

Blooming Bags Pattern by Monica Poole is a great everyday bag with a convenient phone and pen pocket and instructions for a simple zipper pocket.  There are 2 styles available in this pattern - a bag with a frilly rose decoration and a bag with texture (made using Bosal Stitch & Steam™).  Finished size is 25cm x 30cm (10" x 12").

Materials Needed:

• STYLE A with ROSE:
• Outer fabric of bag - 55cm (2/3 yd)
• Lining and rose - 85cm (1 yd)
• Contrast fabric for Rose - 25cm (1/3 yd)
• Medium weight iron on Pellon (H640) - 55cm (2/3 yd)
• 6mm (1/4") wide elastic - 1.8mm (2 yards)
• Felt for base of rose - 22.5cm (8 3/4") square
• Template plastic - 4.5cm x 30cm (1 3/4" x 11 3/4")
• Zipper for internal pocket - 15cm (6")
• Cover button for flower center - size 22mm (1")
• STYLE B with Bosal Stitch & Steam™ and small rose brooch:
• Outer fabric of bag - 70cm (3/4 yd)
• Lining and rose - 70cm (3/4 yd)
• Contrast fabric for rose - 5cm (2") strip x the fabric width
• Texture Magic - 50cm (2/3 yd) Bosal Stitch & Steam™
• Medium weight iron on Pellon (H640) - 15cm (6") for strap only
• 6mm (1/4") wide elastic - 60cm (2/3 yd)
• Felt for base of rose - 12cm (5") square
• Template plastic - 4.5cm x 30cm (1 3/4" x 11 3/4")
• Zipper for internal pocket - 15cm (6")
• 2 grommets, size 5cm (2") measured from outer edge
• Button for bag closure
