Smithfield Bag Pattern *

The Smithfield Bag Pattern by Jen Fox Studios includes sewing instructions and pattern templates for creating a bag with two exterior pockets and two interior pockets, and for making your own fabric straps or attaching purchased leather straps. Finished size is 18" wide by 11" tall, with a 13" handle drop. Optional top zipper closure or magnetic snap closure.

Materials needed:

• 3/8 yd main exterior fabric
• 1/3 yd exterior center fabric
• 1/4 yd exterior pocket fabric
• 1/2 yd lining fabric
• 3/8 yd piping fabric
• 3 1/2 yd cording, 3/16" diameter
• 2 yd interfacing, 22" wide
• Optional closure - either 16" coordinating zipper OR magnetic snap closure
• 1 1/2" O-rings - 4 each
• Optional strap:
  • 1/4 yd fabric plus 1/2 yd (additional) interfacing OR
  • pair of pre-made leather straps 28" - 32" long
