Sylvia Sling Bag Pattern *

The Sylvia Sling Bag Pattern has instructions for 3 patterns in a hobo design.  There is a zipper top closure, a wide (and comfortable!) handle, and lots of pockets for organization.  Finished size is 14" x 7" x 4" with a 20" handle.

Materials Needed:

• Main fabric: One piece bag - 1/3 yd
• Two piece bag with bottom contrast - 1/4 yd and 1/6 yd for contrast
• Three piece bag with contrasting side panels - 1/3 yd and 1/3 yd each of 1 - 2 fabrics
• Lining (includes interior zipper panels) - 5/8 yd
• Interior pockets - 1/3 yd
• Handle - 1/3 yd OR 1/6 yd each of 2 fabrics
• Bottom/side of bag - 1/6 yd
• Exterior zipper panels - 1/8 yd
• Interior bias seam binding - 1/4 yd
• Fabric flower (optional) - 2" strip (width of fabric)
• 20" wide fusible interfacing for light to mid-weight fabrics - 1 5/8 yd
• Fusible fleece for soft side of bag - 1/3 yd
• Pellon Peltex: One sided fusible - 1 yd
• 14" sport zipper
• 1 1/2" wide buckle for handle or 2 - 1 1/2" buttons (optional)
• Temporary adhesive spray (505 or KK2000)
