Diamond Island Tote Bag Pattern

The Diamond Island Tote bag pattern is made with stuffed strips of fabric over a finished lining and can be done in alternating fabrics.  Finished size is 12" H x 14" W x 8" D.  This pattern works great with Bali Pops.

Materials Needed:

• FABRIC: 2 1/2" strips
• Tote bag and pockets - 3 1/2 yd OR one Bali Pop and 1 1/2 yds
• Cut one piece 35" x 44"
• Cut that piece into two pieces 24" wide(lining) and 16" wide (pockets)
• Cut one strip 8" x 44" for the base
• Use twenty-eight Bali Pop strips or cut twenty-eight 2 1/2" strips for weaving
• Use four Bali Pop strips or cut four 2 1/2" strips for binding
• Batting or fusible interfacing - Craf-tex (#337) from Bosal Foam - 1yd
• Handles - 1/2 yd of fabric or 6 Bali Pop strips and 7 yds of 1/4" cotton upholstery poping
