The Pockets Tote Bag Pattern by Cotton Ginny's has 5 easy ways to make pockets, including a gathered pocket for your cell phone, glasses, etc. This also makes a great diaper bag. Finished size is 12 inches H x 14 inches W x 4 inches D.
Materials Needed:
- Outer Fabric: 1/2 yd or 2 fat quarters
- Lining fabric: 1/2 yd or 2 fat quarters (shows along top front of purse)
- POCKETS: Base pocket - 1 fat quarter
- Gathered pocket - 1 fat quarter plus 3/8 inch wide elastic, 6 inches long
- Flap pocket - 1 fat quarter
- Lining pocket - 1 fat quarter, or use fabric left over from flap pocket
- HANDLES - 1/4 yd if using 1 fabric for handles. If using 2 fabrics, you will need 1/8 yd of each
- 1/2 yd Pellon Fusible Thermolam Plus or a non-fusible craft fleece
- Timtex for bottom support or Pellon's Peltex 3 1/2 inches x 13 inches
- Eyelash trim, large size, 1 yd show on cat tote (optional)
- Large button, up to 1 1/2 inch
- Diasppear marker and clear drying craft glue
- Purse Tissue Holder - 6 inches x 7 inches for outer fabric and 6 inches x 8 inches for lining (lining shows as band on front)
