Banded Baskets Pattern

The Banded Baskets pattern by Tara Smith Design of Indygo Junction is one of the new Crossroads designs.  This pattern is a set of organizational baskets that nest together and sizes are SMALL: 5"W x 6"L x 6"H, MEDIUM: 7 1/2"W x 9"L x 8"H, and LARGE: 10"W x 12"L x 11"H.  These baskets are perfect for magazines, sewing supplies, toys, etc.

Materials Needed:

• SMALL:
• 1/8 yard of 45" wide fabric for top band and handles
• 1/4 yard fabric for bottom
• 1/3 yard fabric for lining
• 1/8 yard for piping
• 3/4 yard of 1/4" diameter cording
• 8 3/4" x 23" piece of 1/4" thick foam stabilizer OR ultra firm stabilizer
• MEDIUM:
• 1/4 yard of 45" wide fabric for top band and handles
• 1/3 yard fabric for bottom
• 1/2 yard fabric for lining
• 1/8 yard fabric for piping
• 1 and 1/8 yards of 1/4" diameter cording
• 12 3/4" x 34 1/2" piece of 1/4" thick foam stabilier OR ultra firm stabilizer
• LARGE:
• 1/4 yard of 45" wide fabric for top band and handles
• 3/8 yard fabric for bottom
• 1/2 yard fabric for lining
• 1/8 yard fabric for piping
• 1 and 3/8 yards of 1/4" diameter cording
• 15 3/4" x 44 piece of 1/4" thick foam stabilizer OR  ultra firm sew in stabilizer

Baskets can be made with different interfacing/stiffeners.  For bags with more structure, use a stiffener such as Peltex 70 or Bosal Craf-Tex Lite or an extra firm interfacing.  For a softer shape, use a sew-in polyester foam stabilizer such as ByAnnie's Soft & Stable.
