Cat's Eye Baskets Pattern

The Cat's Eye Baskets by Aunties Two has instructions for zigzag baskets with no shaping required! This bag has double handles and a decorative front bow. Finished sizes are as follows: LARGE 16"W x 10"H x 8"D and SMALL 12"W x 7"H x 6"D.

Materials Needed:

• FABRIC: (Width of Fabric (usually 42/44")
• Basket sides: SMALL- 1 yard or 12 strips 2.5" x WOF,LARGE- 1.25 yards or 18 strips 2.5" x WOF
• Binding, Bottom, Handles - SMALL: 3/4 yard, LARGE: 3/4 yard
• Side Interfacing: SMALL: 3/4 yard, LARGE: 1.25 yards (Use Duet Fuse II Double Sided Fusible Batting bo Bosal available in precut rolls (2.25" x 20 yards), in 1 yard packages or on bolts
• Bottom Interfacing: SMALL: 1/2 yard, LARGE: 1/2 yard (Use Craf-Tex Plus Double Sided Fusible Stiff interfacing by Bosal)
• Matching Cotton Thread - Use a 50 weight 2 ply thread. Also, for hand sewing, use a heavy cotton thread like Aurifil's 12 weight cotton
• Handles (In addition to the fabric listed above): Plastic Tubing (.170 and 1/4" Polyethylene) - 5 feet
• Stiff Interfacing (Craf-Tex, Peltex) - 1 yard or you can purchase Aunties Two Happy Handles Kit #AT238 which contains both the tubing and strips of stiff interfacing pre-cut to 1 and 3/4" wide)
• Embelishments - Bow - 2 yards each of 4 to 8 ribbons or yard
