Quilted Cook & Carry Pattern

The Quilted Cook & Carry Pattern by Indygo Junction includes sewing instructions for creating a quick and easy travel carrier for yoru dishes using strip quilting techniques to creat a quilt block design for the carrier. Insulated batting keeps items warm, and the D-ring constructed hand makes carrying simple. Opens flat for a stylish table mat.  Adjustable to fit round or square casserole dishes up to 9" x 13". Finished size: 21" square when opened flat.

Materials needed:

• Strip Quilt Block Version
  • 1/4 yd Fabric A (for quilt block strips)
  • 5/8 yd Fabric B (for quilt block strips, binding, handle & D-ring tabs)
  • 5/8 yd Fabric C (for quilt block strips & inside triangle squares)
  • 5/8 yd Fabric D (for quilt block strips & inside triangle squares)
• Solid Fabric Version
  • 1 yd (for casserole lining and binding
  • 7/8 yd (for outside fabric, handle, and D-ring tabs)
  • Optional 1 1/2" wide low tack blue painter's tape for quilting
• 22" x 22" heat reflective fleece (Bosal Therm Fleece or Warm & Natural's Insul-Bright)
• 2/3 yd lightweight batting for carrier and handle
• 1" x 9" medium weight interfacing for D-ring tabs
• (2) 1" D-rings
