Aylsham Bag Pattern *

The Aylsham Bag Pattern by Charlie's Aunt includes sewing instructions and pattern templates for creating a sleek and stylish bag with an asymmetrical flap and front pocket, inspired by the simple utilitarian feel of the 1940s.  The front pocket template also doubles for an interior patch pocket.  Finished size is 11" H x 14" W x 2" D.

Materials needed:

• 2/3 yd exterior fabric for bag body, flap and one flap piece
• 1/2 yd contrast fabric for front pocket and one strap piece
• 2/3 yd lining fabric for bag and front pocket lining plus one interior pocket
• 2/3 yd firm sew-in interfacing for bag body and upper flap
• 2/3 yd fusible interfacing for under flap, front pocket and interior pocket
• 40" x 5" of fusible web (or interfacing) for strap
• 1 magnetic snap
• 3 buttons, 1" diameter
• 2" x 12" piece of plastic canvas for base
