La Boheme Tote Pattern *

The La Boheme Tote by Amy Butler is a beautiful tote pattern with lots of embellishment options! The quilted central panel is great just quilted and it's also the perfect place to add your favorite handwork details such as beading and embroidery. This tote has comfortable double handles and is perfect for printed fabric with a focal design. Options are given for two handle styles and instructions are given to make the handle from repurposed leather belts. Finished Dimensions: 16 1/2" wide x 14" tall (excluding Strap).

Materials Needed: 44" wide quilting cotton

• Focal print fabric for center panel and flange - 1 and 1/8 yards
• Print for Side Panel - 1/3 yard
• Lining Print - 5/8 yards
• Bias Strip - 1/2 yard
• Fabric Straps (optional) - 1/2 yard
• INTERFACING/NOTIONS NEEDED:
• 1 and 1/8 yard of 20” wide fusible woven interfacing – ( Shape Flex® SF-101 from Pellon®)
• 1/2 yard of 44” wide muslin
• 1/2 yard 45” wide fusible fleece – (Fusible Fleece 987F from Pellon®)
• 1 pkg 36” x 45” extra-loft batting – (Poly-Fil Extra Loft® Quilt Batting from Fairfield®)
• 2 and 7/8 yards of 5/8” wide ribbon
• 1 spool of transparent thread
• 1 spool of coordinating all-purpose thread
• 1 hand-sewing needle
• An assortment of 2-3 mm beads to cover the select areas of your Focal Design (optional)
• 1 beading needle (optional)
