Madison Bag Pattern *

The Madison Bag pattern by Amy Butler includes instructions, pattern pieces, and measurements to create your own DOWNTOWN PURSE & CLUTCH, UPTOWN HANDBAG, & FABRIC FLOWERS for accessorizing.

Materials Needed:

FOR THE UPTOWN HANDBAG  (Finished size is 17 1/2"W x 7"H)

• 3" of 3/4" Sew-on Velcro
• 1/2 yard of fabric for the exterior
  (Allow extra for matching up a pattern on your fabric )
• 1/2 yard of fabric for the lining
• 1 yard heavyweight fusible interfacing such as Pellon Craft Fuse
• Fabric marker or tailor's chalk

FOR THE DOWNTOWN PURSE  (Finished size is 17 1/2" x 7"H)

• 1 in. of 3/4 in. Sew-on Velcro
• 3/4 yard of fabric for the exterior (Allow extra for matching up a pattern on your fabric)
• 3/4 yard of fabric for the lining
• 1 yard heavyweight fusible interfacing such as Pellon Craft Fuse
• 1/2 yard of Boning (sold by the yard or in packages)
• Fabric marker or tailors chalk

FOR THE FABRIC FLOWERS

NOTE: This is enough material and notions to make one large and one small fabric flower.

• 1/4 yard of one lightweight fabric for flower petal fronts
• 1/4 yard of a coordinating lightweight fabric for flower petal backs
• 1/4 yard of Wonder Under (double sided, fusible interfacing)
• 2 decorative buttons for the center of the flowers
• (2) 1" sew-on craft pin backs and/or hair barrette backs
• Thimble
