Flower Patch Bag Pattern *

The Flower Patch is a large bag pattern that can be used as a craft carrying tote, a regular, everyday tote, or a purse,  There are double handles, grommets, convenient side pockets, and decorative flower decorations.  Finished size is 16" x 16".

Materials Needed:

• 2/3 yard striped cotton for bag and bottom
• 1 yard cotton fabric for bag lining, flap lining, and pocket lining
• 1/2 yard linen or osnaburg for flap, pockets, handles, and piping
• 2/3 yard needlepunch fleece
• 1 and 3/4 yards of 3/4" diameter cotton welting or piping cord for handles
• 1 and 1/4 yards of same as above for optional piping around the bottom
• Four 1" plastic drapery  grommets
• 1 and 1/2 yards or 1/2" wide green ribbon for flower stems
• Wool scraps for flowers - cream, white, muted blues, peachy tan, and gray
• Green wool scrap for leaves
• Embroideryf loss or wool thread for applique
• Buttons - Two 1" and one 1/2" for flap flower centers, plus six 1/2" crocheted rings or buttons,  Also 6-8 buttons 1/4" to 1/2" for pocket flower centers
• 3" scrap of lace for middle flower (optional)
• Yarn and large eyed needle for embroidery
