Hip-Hugger Purse Pattern *

The Hip-Hugger Purse by Heart to Hand is very comfortable and perfect for those day trips to the mall!  This bag has 2 outside pockets and a handy pen pocket and the strap wears across the body for extra security.  Finished size is approximately 11 inches across and 12 inches tall and full size pattern pieces are included.

You will need:

• 1/2 yd medium weight fabric for purse front
• 3/4 yd. fabric for purse back (enough for 2 backs)
• - OR - 1 pair adult denim pants
• 1/2 yd. of 1 1/2 inch wide twill tape or canvas strapping (you may want to use double thickness if twill tape is thin - buy 1 yd.)
• 12 inch metal zipper (a longer zipper can be cut off or you can buy zippers by the inch)
• Two #36 (7/8 inch) buttons to cover
• 7/8 inch white button for pocket closure
• Misc. scraps of wool felt for appliques
• Embroidery floss
• 2 1/2 yds. piping for denim purse (optional)
