French Cottage Set Bag Pattern

The French Cottage Bag pattern and matching needle case has instructions for a bucket style bag pattern with a french cottage applique on the front and needlecase.  Finished size for the bag is 10" x 12" and the needlecase measures 3" x 4 1/2" when completed.

Materials Needed:

• FRENCH COTTAGE TOTE BAG:
• 50cm (20") Main fabric
• 50cm Linen (bag base and lining)
• 20cm x 25cm (8" x 10") applique border and windows
• 20cm x 25cm applique background
• 15cm (6") square of cream fabric for applique
• 15cm x 10cm (6" x 4") red fabric for applique
• 10cm (4") square of green fabric for applique
• 10cm x 5cm (4" x 2") blue fabric for applique
• 80cm (32") cord
• 10cm x 60cm (4" x 24") lightweight iron-on Pellon
• DMC threads: 3011 green, 3721 dark pink, 224 pink
• NEEDLECASE:
• Fat eighth of 3 co-ordinating fabrics
• 15cm (6") square of felt, wool or wadding
• 10cm (4") square of cream fabric for front
• 10cm x 5cm (4" x 2") blue fabric for front
• 10cm x 5cm red fabric for applique
• Scraps of brown, green, and blue fabric
• DMC threads: 3011 green, 3721 dark pink, 224 pink
• Press stud
