Crochet - Smooth and Shaggy Tote with Flap Pattern

The Crochet - Smooth and Shaggy Tote with Flap 'Bags From Rags' pattern by Madge Ziegler  is made from 1/2 inches fabric strips and was designed especially for beginners - you only need to know how to chain and single crochet!  Finished size is approximately 12 inches x 12 inches.

Materials Needed:

• SMOOTH TOTE: 1 2/3 yd color A
• 1 1/2 yd color B
• SHAGGY TOTE:  A total of at least 3 1/2 yds of fabric (I use at least six different fabrics)
• Lining for both bags: 1/2 yd fabric for either bag
• Optional: 3/4 yd lightweight interfacing for lining
• Supplies: One size N crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Rotary cutting supplies (see pattern for suggestions)
• Hand and/or machine sewing supplies to make and insert lining
