Gemma Giraffe Library Bag and Pencil Case Pattern

Gemma Giraffe is a cute but practical library bag pattern with instructions for a matching pencil case!  This pattern has double handles and an applique for a giraffe and the pencil case has a secure top zipper.  Finished size is 12" x 14" for the bag (plus straps) and 9" x 4" for the pencil case.

Materials Needed:

• LIBRARY BAG: 35cm (14") main fabric for bag
• 10cm (4") pink print for the bottom of the bag
• 15cm (6") fabric for straps
• 20cm x 30cm (8" x 12") blue fabric for giraffe
• 10cm x 20cm (4" x 8") red fabric for giraffe spots
• 35cm (14") fabric for bag lining
• Scrap of brown fabric
• 4 large bright buttons
• 25cm (10") lightweight, iron-Pellon
• DMC stranded embroidery thread, 420 brown and to match blue and red fabrics
• Vliesofix
• PENCIL CASE: 10cm x 12cm (4" x 5") six co-ordinating fabrics
• 20cm (8") dress zipper
• 15cm (6") fabric for pencil case lining
• 15cm (6") lightweight iron-on Pellon
• 10cm (4") ribbon
