Gershwin & Ellington Clutch Bags Pattern *

The Gershwin & Ellington Clutch Bags Pattern by Charlie's Aunt is a vintage inspired clutch that evokes a 1930's style design and has 2 alternate patterns - View 1 has a gathered front and a flat bow applique trim and View 2 has a stylized asymmetrical flap and bow.  Finished size is 8" H (20cm) x 12 1/2" W (32cm).

Materials Needed:

• VIEW 1 - Gershwin Clutch Bag
• 1/2 yard (50cm) of 44" wide (112cm) or 54" (140cm) exterior fabric for bag and bow
• 1/3 yard (30cm) of 44" (92cm) wide lining fabric for bag lining and interior pocket
• 1/4 yard (25cm) of 36" (92cm) wide sew-in craft interfacing for bag
• 1/4 yard (25cm) of 36" (92cm) wide fusible interfacing for the flap
• Piece of fusible web 5" x 4" (13cm x 10cm) for bow center
• 1 magnetic snap set
• 3 buttons approximately 3/4" (19mm) diameter to trim bow end
• VIEW 2 - Ellington Clutch Bag
• 2/3 yard (60cm) of 44" (112cm) or 1/2 yard (50cm) of 54" (140cm) wide exterior fabric for bag
• 1/3 yard (30cm) of 44" (92cm) wide lining fabric for bag lining and interior pocket
• 1/4 yard (25cm) of 36" (92cm) wide sew-in interfacing for bag
• 1/4 hard of 36" wide fusible interfacing for the flap
• Piece of contrast fabric for applique bow 8" x 10" (20cm x 26cm) (Stripes or checks work well with center and loops cut in the opposite direction)
• Piece of fusible web for applique 8" x 10" (20cm x 26cm)
• Piece of felt 8" x 10" (20cm x 26cm) to back applique bow
• 1 magnetic snap set
