Gypsy Sling Pattern *

The Gypsy Sling Bag Pattern by Amy Butler has instructions for both leather and fabric straps and can be sewn in either quilting weight cotton fabric or decor fabric.  This bag is roomy and works well with a focus fabric.  Finished size is 23"W x 15"H (excluding handle).

Materials Needed:  Yardage is 44" wide quilting or 54" wide mid-weight decor fabric

• FOR 44" wide fabric:
• 1 3/8 yards exterior fabric (2 5/8 yards if you are making the bag with the optional fabric straps)
• 2 yards lining fabric
• 8 3/4 yards of 20: wide fusible woven interfacing such as Shape Flex SF-101 from Pellon (10 yards if using optional fabric straps)
• For 54" wide fabric:
• 1 3/8 yards of exterior fabric
• 2 yards of lining fabric
• 3 3/8 yards of fusible woven interfacing
• 2 leather belt straps (3/4" wide x 41" long x 1/8" thick or one 1 1/2" wdie x 1/8" thick leather belt, split lengthwide using a strap cutter
