Saffron Bucket Bag Pattern

The Saffron Bucket Bag Pattern by Around The Bobbin has instructions for 2 styles of bucket bags - one with a flower band and the other with a contrasting squares band.  There is a single shoulder strap and 7 pockets to help you stay organized.  Finished size is approximately 14"H x 10"W (round base).  Paper templates are included for the bag bottom and the bag top.

Materials Needed:  Fabric is 42" to 44" wide and cotton quilting, linens, or decorator fabrics are recommended

• 7/8 yard main fabric for main exterior
• Flower band and handle - 2/3 yard for contrasting squares band version)
• 1/3 yard coordinating fabric for lower exterior
• 1/3 yard contrasting fabric for flower (1/4 yard for contrasting squares band)
• 1/2 yard coordinating fabric for upper lining and pocket
• 1/2 yard coordinating fabric for  lower lining
• INTERFACING AND INTERLINING: (Interfacing not needed for decor fabric.  If you use a heavier weight fabric, use a lighter weight interfacing)
• (2) 1/3 yard 20" medium weight woven fusible interfacing such as Pellon SF101
• 1/3 yard 44/45" (2/3 yard 19/20") firm fusible interfacing such as Pellon decor bond
• (10) 1/4" square piece of Peltex to stabilize bottom
• 1 yard of 20" nonfusible extra firm stabilizer, such as Pellon 926 Extra-Firm Stabilizer
• 1 strip of (1) 3/8" x 27" lightweight batting or felt for handle
