Petrillo Bag Pattern *

The Petrillo Bag pattern by Sew Sweetness has lots of professional design features, such as a gathered front flap and straps on the front and back of the bag. There is also an inner zippered pocket and a padded pocket with a flap, which would be perfect for toting your iPad or other electronic device! Also, complete the removable stiff false bottom for added stability! Finished size for this bag pattern is 12" long x 15-1/2" tall.

Materials Needed:

• 3/4 yard of Exterior Fabric (or 1 yard if your fabric is directional)
• 1 yard of Lining Fabric
• 1/2 yard of fabric for straps and flap accent
• 1/4 yard of fabric for the flap
• 2-1/3 yards of Pellon® SF-101 Shape Flex® fusible woven interfacing
• 1 yard of By Annie’s Soft and Stable™ (Soft and Stable is a 1/8” thick, foam sew-in interfacing; one of my testers also recommends automotive headliner fabric in place of the Soft and Stable; you can also substitute a needled fleece fusible interfacing for the Soft and Stable, such as Pellon #TP971F Thermolam Plus fusible interfacing)
• 9” zipper
• Two pairs of sew-in invisible magnetic snaps
• 2 pieces, each 10-1/4” x 4-1/4” to slip into the false bottom (you can use plastic quilter’s template, cardboard, or extra-heavy interfacing, such as Pellon Peltex; one of my testers used a plastic cutting board from the dollar store)
