Quilted Knapsack Pattern

The Quilted Knapsack Pattern by Pleasant Home Patterns is a handy (and light!) backpack with a built-in zippered pocket to store smaller items securely. This backpack pattern is designed to carry a change of clothes, notebooks, or other smaller items that you don't want in your purse. Fabric squares measuring 2.5" are used and can be bought pre-cut or make your own out of your scrap fabric! Finished size is approximately 12" x 14".

Materials Needed:

• One Moda Candy Charm Pack (or other Charm Pack) or cut your own - (42) 2/5" squares of fabric
• One 12.5" x 14.5" piece of fabric for backing
• Two 2.25" x 13.5" pieces of fabric for casing
• One 8" x 14.5" piece of fabric for pocket
• Two 12.5" x 14.5" pieces of fabric for lining
• One 12.5" x 14.5" piece of batting
• One 7 to 9" zipper (your choice)
• Two 1/4" to 1/2" grommets
• 4 and 1/2 yards or cording
