New York! New York! Bag Pattern *

The New York ! New York! Bag Pattern by Whistlepig Creek Productions is a fun to make (and unique!) foundation pieced bag pattern that is also fat quarter friendly! This purse pattern has a large zippered pocket with easy to install instructions, lots of illustrations and clear instructions. Included with the pattern is a link to a foundation piecing video. Finished size is 10" W x 11" H x 1.5"D.

Materials Needed: Quilting cotton fabric is recommended and fat quarters need to be at least 18" x 21"

• Fat quarter - Fabric A - Bag Body (3/8 yard needed for one way fabrics)
• Fat quarter - Fabric B - Points Background (shown in black on two bags on the cover)
• Fat quarter - Fabric C - Points Foreground (You may optionally use (8) 2.5" x 7" scraps, (4) 2.5" x 2.5" scraps and (1) 5" x 5" scrap (quarter circle)
• Fat quarter D - Flap lining and skinny straps (1/2" wide) - Additional fat quarter needed for wider strap (1" wide)
• 3/8 yard Fabric E - Bag lining and interior pockets (at least 42" wide)
• 1/2 yard Fusible Fleece such as Pellon 987F
• 1 and 1/4 yards Fusible interfacing such as Pellon SFS101 (20" wide)
• (1) 9" zipper (optional)
• (1) 18mm magnetic snap (3/4")
• Add-A-Quarter ruler or quilting ruler with 1/4" clearly marked
• Fabric Glue Stick or similar
• Quilting plastic or Card stock at least 5" x 8"
• Legal size Foundation paper - for additional copies of the foundation pattern (optional but recommended to preserve pattern for future use)
