The Derby Tote Bag Pattern *

The Derby Tote Pattern by Melissa Mortenson of Polkadot Chair Sewing Patterns includes sewing instructions and pattern templates for creating a tote with three different front pocket styles: (A) small pocket with flap and button closure; (B) one large divided pocket; and (C) one central pocket. This tote bag is a great project for a beginning sewist. Finished size: 14" W x 17" T x 1 1/2" D.

Materials needed:

• 1/2 yd fabric - outside
• 1/2 yd fabric - lining
• 1 Fat Quarter of fabric for front pocket A
• 1/2 yd fabric for front pocket B
• 1 Fat Quarter of fabric for front pocket C
• 1/2 yd fusible fleece
• 1 yd Shaped Flex Fusible Interfacing (18" wide)
• 1 package Kraft Tex
• Magnetic snap
• Button for front pocket A
• package of piping for front pocket B
• glue stick
• 1 1/2 yds of 1 1/2" wide cotton webbing for handles
