My Sewing Tote Pattern *

The My Sewing Tote Pattern by Kathi Campbell of Heart To Hand includes sewing instructions and pattern templates for creating a tote bag with six outside appliqued pockets. Finished size: 18" W x 12" H.

Materials needed:

• 3/4 yd medium to heavy weight fabric - bag
• 3" x 44" contrasting fabric - top trim/binding
• 3/4 yd fabric - lining
• 3/4 yd ecru duck or canvas - handles, pocket linings, trim
• Scraps of misc. cotton prints for pockets:
  • (2) 10-1/2" x 12-1/2" - large pockets
  • (4) 6" x 8" - small pockets
• 1-3/4 yds foam stablilzer
• 1/2 yd thin cotton batting or polyester fleeces
• Wool fabrics for appliques:
  • Sewing Maching: 7" x 8" black, 1" x 8" charcoal grey, scraps of gray & gold
  • Thread Spools: 3" x 6" tan, scraps of blue & ecru
  • Lettering: 8" x 8" brown/tan
  • Pincushion: 5" x 8" dk. red, scraps of green
  • Scissors: 4" x 7" gray, scraps of black
• 1-1/2 yds of 3/4" dia. piping cording
• Buttons
  • (4) 1-1/4" - handles
  • (3) misc. for "sew" pockets
  • 1/2" metal button for scissors rivet
• 1/2 yd measuring tabel printed twill tape
• Embroidery floss or wool thread for appliqueing
