Janet's Jewelry Case Pattern

The Janet's Jewelry Case Pattern by Laura Martell of The Creative Thimble includes sewing instructions for creating a soft fabric case for your jewelry treasures. There are pockets and compartments for all your jewelry needs, including  2 pockets for tangle-free necklaces, a padded covered section for your earrings, and  a vinyl see-through pocket for bracelets. The case also has a ring holder, an area for pins and a zippered pocket for everything else. The case closes with a magnetic snap and has plenty of areas that would be perfect for embroidery or applique to personalize your case. Finished size: Open -  18" W x 8" H, Closed - 6-1/2" W x 8" H.

Materials Needed:

• 1/3 yd fabric - Outside cover fabric, inside pockets
• 1/4 yd Lining fabric
• 3/8 yd Contrast fabric
• 1/4 yd fabric - Binding (or add above)
• 1/4 yd Lightweight batting OR scraps
• 1/4 yd Heavy fusible interfacing (Decor Bond by Pellon)
• 3/8 yd Grosgrain ribbon to match fabrics
• 1-1/4 yd - 1/4" wide satin ribbon
• 4-1/2" of 3/4" wide Velcro
• 4-1/2" x 1-1/4" Plastic Needlepoint Canvas
• (3) long prong snaps and adapter, OR size 1 Sew-on snaps
• 7" zipper
• 3/4" magnetic snap
• 3" x 1-1/4" template plastic
• Glue Stick
• Small handful of fiber-fill stuffing
• Optional: 1/2" bias tape maker
