Ticking and Lace Handbag Pattern

The Ticking & Lace Handbag pattern has instructions for adding appliques and the pocket is a blend of punch needle embroidery and wool applique. (You can just do the applique if you don't know how to punch needle). Purchased decorative handles are needed.

Materials Needed:

• 1/3 yd each fabric for bag, lining, and thin cotton batting
• Wool Fabrics:  4" x 20" strip of green to bind top (or 4" x 20" and piece it)
• Scraps for apploques - green for leaves and stems, cream for flowers, plus pink and brown if doing applique only
• 11" x 11" tightly woven green cottom or weaver's cloth for punch needle embroidery pocket, or any solid fabric if not doing punch embroidery
• 10" x 10" scrap of cotton fabric for pocket lining
• 40" of 3" or 4" wide crocheted lace
• Decorative purse handles
• 2" button
• Embroidery floss to match appliques
