Zipper Critters Pattern

Zipper Critters patterns gives directions for you to create a dog, cat, or pig with a zipper mouth that can also double as a hidden pocket.  The critters range in size from the large ( 5" x 8") to the small (3 1/2" square).  The small size can be attached with a lanyard clip to your purse or backpack!

Materials Needed:  For all zippered critters -

• Multiple fabric scraps in various textures.  The largest amount for any one piece is approximately 1/4 yd.  All critters shown on the cover used a minimum of 4 different fabrics.
• A nylon or metal zipper is used.  Minimum zipper lengths: Horizontal Critter - 12" long
  Vertical Critter - 9" long
  Square Critter - 9" long
  All Small Critters - 7" long
• Various buttons and beads and small pieces of fusible interfacing for eye patches and nose
• Long blunt object to use as a stuffing tool
• Polyester stuffing
• Material for cats only - Heavy thread for whiskers
• Materials for small critters only - one lanyard clip, either plastic or metal
• Approximately 4" of 1/4" wide grosgrain ribbon
