Small Wonders Mini Purse Pattern

Small Wonders Mini Purse Patterns by Marilyn Gash has instructions for 4 mini purses with applique and embroidery using wool.

Materials Needed:

• POSY BOUQUET PURSE: 6" x 13" piece of cream colored boiled wool
• 1/4 yd of red-cream striped flannel for lining and to cover cording
• Scraps of red wool for posies
• 2 1/4 yd of 3/8" diameter cording for strap
• Embroidery floss: yellow (DMC #781, red (DMC #3721) and green (DMC #932)
• Two 3/8" pearl buttons
• Two 3/8" sew on snaps
• BIRD AND BERRIES PURSE: 6" x 13" piece of cream colored boiled wool
• 1/4 yd of flannel for lining
• Wool scrap for bird applique
• 1 1/4 yd of 3/8" diameter jute cording for strap
• Embroidery floss: green (DMC #730, blue DMC #336) and dark gray (DMC #3371)
• Two 3/8" pearl buttons
• Two 3/8" sew on snaps
• 16 blue wooden beads (approximately 3/8" diameter)
• 1 small yellow bead for bird eye
• FRIENDSHIP HEART PURSES: For each purse you will need:
• 10 1/2" square of red or green boiled wool
• 1/4 yd of flannel for lining and to cover cording
• 1 1/8 yd of cording
• Small button
• Small amount of stuffing
• FOR LARGE PURSE WITH DOUBLE HEART YOU WILL ALSO NEED: SCRAP OF RED WOOL AND RED (DMC #3721) embroidery floss
• FOR SMALL PURSE WITH PATCHWORK HEART YOU WILL ALSO NEED: Scraps of fabric for patchwork heart, black embroidery floss, and small sew on snap
• QUILTER'S NINE PATCH PURSE: 8" x 12" piece of black boiled wool
• 8" x 12" flannel for lining
• Scraps of wool for "patched" squares
• 1 1/4 yd or 3/8" diameter braided rayon cord for strap
• Gold perle cotton
• Green (DMC #934) embroidery floss
• One 3/8" round button
